Return to Normal

Folks, we are a resilient lot but a return to normal would feel “mo better.” After two years of Covid and Hurricane Ida, I think we need rest and fun. The hurricane repairs are well underway and Covid seems to be easing so lets do what we enjoy most, getting together to eat, drink and pass a good time.

We are reminded normal is not complete with our major March 5th annual fundraiser for Hogs For The Cause being held at our Tailgate Tigers Headquarters at 4141 California Ave in Kenner. Fair Grounds is still not able to accommodate our event due to a number of issues. The staff and horsemen are still very supportive and through team member Neil Pessin we anticipate a large number of “grab and go” orders being delivered to Neil’s barn at Fair Grounds on March 5th. It feels really good to step back into Tailgate Tigers mode after our two year hiatus from Hogs For The Cause. This year’s return to the UNO campus will mark the first time we were senior enough in the fundraising pecking order to achieve securing a booth facing a stage. This year we will have booth B36 facing the Luzianne/Blue Plate stage. Unfortunately we will not be serving our fresh popped Cracklins this year. We will instead be offering a new product. Our Pulled Pork Sliders will feature our award winning Pulled Pork with a sweet sauce on Hawaiian Rolls with Provolone Cheese. These are a gooey and tangy. We think they will be a hit!

As we step back in to the fray, we hope this year finds you healthy and ready to enjoy life. Our hope is this years events allow us to begin regaining confidence as we build toward a bright future.
